Bauer-Griffin offers "Mustachioed Idol"

Bauer-Griffin online, a pair of first-rate paparazzi photographers pegging themselves as “The Hollywood Hunt Club,” request the patronage of the mustache nation.

The celebrity photo site run by Frank Griffin and Randy Bauer is running a well done vote for your “Mustachioed Idol.” You can check out the site and vote for your idol here, and it seems these guys are pretty legit with an interesting back-story.

A bit about Frank and Randy:  After nearly three decades of rock and roll photography, Frank Griffin landed in Los Angeles fourteen years ago with only a scarf he’d gotten at an Air Supply show in Reno. Three weeks later – drunk, stoned, and due to the fact that his long mustache was blowing in his eyes – he broke his neck in a motorcycle accident. People, that is a real man. People who break necks in bike accidents and live to tell about it – those are mustache people.

Frank’s partner Randy Bauer started snapping pro pics in New York young – real young. He published his first pic at 16, and then about 10 years ago, jumped a Greyhound bus for California where he made sweet love with three homeless men en route. That’s commitment.

These guys have stalked the lies of Reese Witherspoon, Renee Zellweger, the jugular Pamela Anderson, Meg Ryan, Russell Crowe, Britney Spears, Matt LeBlanc, J. Lo and Ben Affleck. We only wish they had gone after the dirt-bag Dave Navarro.

Here’s what we really dig about these guys. They say, "Paps are the only real journalists in Hollywood." Arguable, but a reasonable point to raise. And Griffin added this gem, which clearly indoctrinates them into the mustached Americans hearts of hearts, “We don't have to worry about who we piss off. Everyone's already pissed at us."

Welcome to the club.

About afroman

The name “Abe Froman” is most commonly recognized as the ubiquitous and unseen character who’s identity is briefly assumed by actor Matthew Broderick in the film “Ferris Beuller’s Day Off.” However, Abraham Froman is much more. Dr. Froman, a Capricorn, began his career with AMI as an intern, and after receiving his certification in nuclear mustacheology in 2006, transitioned his role into the organization’s Director of Logistical Intelligence, focusing on research, government relations, intelligence gathering, grass roots advocacy, and song writing. On October 25, 2008, he will ascend to the role of Chief Executive Officer. “I am honored to assume the chair held by Drs. Snor and Perlut previously,” Froman said. “The Mustached American people need leadership, and I pledge that AMI, under my stewardship, will continue to provide it at a time when it is so desperately needed.” Dr. Froman has said that his future goals for AMI are to create satellite campus’s overseas and to develop an annual event, to be known as "The Million Mustache March," each year in St. Louis, concluding under the world’s largest mustache – St. Louis’ Gateway Arch. Froman formerly lived in the Chicago area where he ran a museum dedicated to the "Karate Kid" series of films starring the indefatigable Pat Morita. As Abe likes to say, "One can never tire of Pat Morita." Dr. Froman is also a periodic contributor to joesportsfan.com.
