It was announced this week that long-time television host and mustached American Pat O'Brien has checked into a rehabilitation facility for unspecified treatment..
O'Brien, who turns 60 today, is best remembered for hosting pretty much every major sporting event under the sun, as well as leading "Access Hollywood" from the beginning, and most recently hosting "The Insider."
A statement from producers of "The Insider" confirmed, "O'Brien and his doctors felt this is the best course for maintaining his sobriety."
Pat is going through a tough stretch, and yes he had some issues back in 2005 with the now infamous voice mail messages.
But you know what? Pat O'Brien is a hell of a guy. In the event you missed it, pan down to the October 2007 AMI "Monthly Mustache Interview." Not only does Pat have a terrific sense of humor, but he has been very, very giving of his time and assistance to AMI. He's no Dave Navarro, who is currently in the running for the United Knucklehead Convention's much-coveted "Knuckleheaded Midget of the Year" award.
So let's all give our best wishes to Pat. A hell of a guy and a terrific mustached American.
Get well soon.
