The mustache community has lost one of its giants.
Robert Goulet, the owner of one of the most distinctive mustaches in the entertainment world, has died. He was 73.
The Associated Press reported that the singer died Tuesday morning in a Los Angeles hospital while awaiting a lung transplant.
Goulet made a wonderful career out of his mustache. In addition to a singing career that took him around the world, he had a greatly underrated movie career, appearing most notably in "Naked Gun 2 1/2, the Smell of Fear," "Beetlejuice," and "Atlantic City," in addition to appearing in the "Naked Gun" television series that preceded the movie.
Let all Americans -- mustached brothers, weak-kneed beards and goatees, and those who suffer from Bare Upper Lip Disorder (BULD) -- take a moment to remember the genius of Robert Goulet and his mustache.
